The whole instrument -- 01-overview
Amen break resequencer driven by the digits of pi.
AMENPI chops the amen break into 10 slices and sequences them with the digits of pi -- a transport clock walks the digit stream at the host BPM and each digit picks a slice.
The digit matrix shows the pi stream; the waveform shows the current slice; the pi grid is the step view of the digit walk. Pattern looping locks onto a stretch of digits, SHUFFLE, HUMANIZE and the SUB divider add groove, and LOAD SAMPLE swaps any slot for your own break.
REV flips playback, MONO/POLY switches voice allocation, and the transport bar's RND re-rolls the whole matrix -- every roll lands in the preset list as rnd-* history.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| MATRIX | Digit-to-slice remapping -- click a cell to set which slice a digit plays, double-click to mute it. |
| MATRIX TOP | Top row picks the slice slot that < / > and LOAD SAMPLE target; the 'r' corner re-rolls the matrix. |
| GRID | Step view of the digit walk -- click a cell to jump the playhead; the header pages the stream in chunks of 100. |
| GRID COUNT | Number field in the grid header -- how many pi digits the walk covers (10-100000). |
| WAVEFORM | Current slice's waveform -- the offset range sets the play window. |
| OFFSETS | Dual range under the waveform -- left/right handles set the slice's in/out points (0-100%); drag the bar between them to shift both together. |
| RND | Randomize the matrix -- recorded as an rnd-* preset entry. |
| LOOP | Loop a section of the pi digit stream as the pattern. |
| S.LP | Loop the audio slice itself. |
| REV | Reverse playback. |
| MONO/POLY | Voice allocation -- one voice retrig or overlapping tails. |
| SHUFFLE | Swing -- delays off-beats. |
| HUMANIZE | Timing/velocity jitter. |
| SUB | Subdivider -- splits each step into finer hits. |
| < / > | Step through the 10 slice slots. |
| LOAD SAMPLE | Swap the selected slot for your own break. |
| SAVE | Save the current state as a named preset. |
| UNLOCK | Licence/registration. |
| THEME | Cycle the colour theme. |

The running plugin -- every area is detailed below.

Digits of pi laid out as a grid -- the walk through them is your drum pattern.
Each row is a digit of pi, each column one of the 10 amen slices -- the lit cell sets which slice fires when that digit comes up. Click to remap, double-click to mute a digit (empty row = silence), and click a top-row number to pick the slot that < / > and LOAD SAMPLE target.

LOOP locks onto a stretch of digits so a section repeats as a pattern instead of marching through all of pi.

Hit the transport bar's RND -- the matrix re-rolls and the new state is filed in the preset list automatically. (The matrix's own 'r' corner re-rolls too, but without filing a preset entry.)

The grid shows where the walk sits in the loop; the waveform shows the slice being played.
The pi grid -- the step sequencer view of the digit walk. Clicking a cell jumps the playhead (and syncs the IDX knob).

The grid header pages the stream: << < > >> step through the digits in chunks of 100 (counter shows page/total), and the number field sets how many pi digits the walk covers -- 10 to 100000.

The waveform view shows the loaded slice; the dual range under it sets the start/end window the step plays.

The offsets dual range -- two handles mark the slice's in/out points in percent (0-100). Drag either handle to trim the window; drag the bar between them to shift the whole window without changing its length. Here it's narrowed to 18%-62% so the step plays only the middle of the slice.

Playback shaping lives across the top strip.
LOOP / S.LP / REV / MONO-POLY toggle the playback modes; SHUFFLE, HUMANIZE and SUB add swing, jitter and subdivided hits.

< and > step through the 10 slice slots, LOAD SAMPLE swaps the selected slot for your own file -- saved presets remember which files were loaded.

Keyboard note slots -- every key holds a scene: matrix mapping plus FX chain. Playing a key saves the current state into the last-played key and recalls this key's slot. CPY / PST copy a slot between keys, RST clears the selected one, RST ALL wipes all; + / - shift octaves. Demo allows 3 slots.

Left column knobs, then the two button rows.
PITCH (-100..+100) -- global playback pitch offset for the slices.

SPEED -- transport tempo division; the label reads the active division.

LEN (1--128) -- pattern-loop length in steps; the label shows the number.

IDX (1--100) -- loop start index on the pi grid; bidirectional -- clicking a grid cell moves this knob.

LOOP -- lock the transport onto the current stretch of digits as a repeating pattern.

S.LP -- loop the audio slice itself.

REV -- reverse slice playback.

RND -- re-roll the matrix; filed as an rnd-* preset entry.

MONO/POLY -- MONO retriggers one voice per step, POLY lets tails overlap.

THEME -- cycle the colour theme.

SHFL -- swing: delays off-beat steps.

HUM -- timing/velocity humanization jitter.

SUB -- subdivider: splits each step into finer hits; label shows the division.

< -- previous of the 10 slice slots.

> -- next slice slot.

LOAD SAMPLE -- swap the selected slot for your own break (saved presets remember the file).

SAVE -- save the current state as a named preset.

UNLOCK -- opens the activation dialog: enter your purchase email and licence key (verified online). The unregistered demo caps the FX rack at 3 free-tier slots, 3 keyboard scene slots, 3 custom sample loads and 3 preset saves.

ABOUT -- version and credits dialog.

AmenPi treats the preset list as a roll history.
Every matrix RND -- from the transport bar or from host automation on the randomize param -- is filed as an rnd-* entry.

Double-click a row to recall that roll, R renames a keeper, X deletes it. SAVE (in the transport bar) names the current state.

Effects, linkable LFOs and the master bus.
FX slots with per-slot RDM, reorder/remove and the ADD browser; RND CHAIN/RND FX/RND PRM re-roll the chain.

LFO LINK then click a control -- slice params, filter, FX knobs -- for live modulation.

Left column: I/O, post-filter, EQ, comp, limiter and the preset browser. ? opens this manual; THEME re-skins the whole UI.
