The whole plugin -- 01-overview
Layered VSTi host -- stack instruments, randomize the ensemble.
DYSFONCTION hosts external VST instruments as layers -- each layer loads a plugin, maps its parameters to house-style controls, and has its own play mode, bypass and randomize.
The rack-level randomizers -- RND SYNTH, RND PRM and RND CHAIN -- re-roll which layers are loaded, their parameters or the whole stack; every roll is filed to the preset list as rnd-* history.
The control panel carries I/O, post-filter, EQ, comp, limiter and the preset browser; the keyboard plays all active layers; the FX rack processes the summed output.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| LAYERS | Each layer hosts a VSTi -- params exposed as knobs. |
| + ADD | Open the VSTi browser to load a plugin into a layer. |
| RND | Per-layer header button: randomize that layer. |
| RND SYNTH | Re-roll which instruments are loaded. |
| RND PRM | Re-roll every layer's parameters. |
| RND CHAIN | Re-roll the whole layer stack. |
| KEYBOARD | Play all active layers at once. |

Four columns: control panel, layer rack, FX rack, LFO rack -- with the keyboard along the bottom.
The running plugin -- every area is detailed below.

Each layer loads a VST instrument and exposes its parameters.
A layer slot -- the header carries bypass, play-mode controls and RND (randomizes the layer's own params); knobs and selects mirror the hosted plugin's parameters.

Rack-level RND SYNTH / RND PRM / RND CHAIN re-roll instruments, params or the whole stack -- every roll lands in the preset list as rnd-* history.

The rack is the instrument -- header buttons, then layer anatomy.
+ ADD -- opens the VSTi browser; pick an instrument to append a layer. The browser's own bar carries IMPORT (scan an external .vst3/.dll into the library), REFRESH (re-scan the hosted-plugin folders), DELETE (remove the selected entry) and CANCEL.

CLEAR -- empties the stack.

RND SYNTH -- re-rolls which instruments are loaded.

RND PARAMS -- re-rolls every layer's parameters.

RND CHAIN -- rebuilds the whole layer stack (rnd-* history).

Rack strip: SAVE names the current preset, THEME cycles the palette, ABOUT shows credits.

UNLOCK opens the activation dialog -- enter your purchase email and licence key; activation is verified online and the button turns into LICENSE once registered. The unregistered demo allows 2 layers, 3 FX slots and the free-tier built-in synths only.

Per layer: the header shows the instrument name; BYPASS toggles it, LEGATO ties notes together, the play-mode combo picks POLY (full polyphony), MONO LAST / MONO HIGH / MONO LOW (retrigger with last-, highest- or lowest-note priority), RND randomizes just that layer, PANIC sends an all-notes-off, ^ / v reorder, X removes.

The layer's second row carries the hosted plugin's own tools: a preset combo with the plugin's built-in programs, SAVE / DEL to add or remove presets, LOAD to (re)load the hosted instrument and GUI to open its native editor window when it has one.

Inside a layer the hosted plugin's parameters appear as house-style knobs, selectors and action buttons, plus OUT gain on the row.

Control panel: GAIN, post-filter MODE/CUTOFF/RESO, LOW/MID/HIGH EQ, comp THRESH/RATIO/KNEE, limiter THRESH/RELEASE, VOLUME; the preset browser below has search + SAVE + ?.

Vizu + VU -- animated spectrum and output level.

The preset list doubles as a roll history.
Every rack randomize is filed as an rnd-* entry -- double-click to recall, R renames, X deletes.

The remaining house-style areas.
The shared FX rack processes the summed layer output -- reorderable slots, per-slot RDM, rack randomizers.

LFO LINK then click any control for live modulation.

Control panel: I/O, filter, EQ, comp, limiter and the preset browser. ? opens this manual.

Live capture: RND CHAIN really runs during export -- the shots below show a freshly rolled layer stack and FX chain.
RND CHAIN clears the stack and staggers in 1-6 random instruments (one layer every ~330 ms, so bridged plugins spawn one at a time) -- the capture below is a real roll.

The same rack once the staggered loads have settled -- each layer shows its hosted instrument's parameters.

RND CHAIN on the FX rack rolls a fresh effect chain on the summed layer output.

Every roll lands in the preset list as rnd-* history -- double-click to recall.
