The whole instrument -- 01-overview
Reese/hoover morphing bass -- one engine, one MORPH knob from reese to mentasm.
HVRZ is a dedicated bass machine: a single engine covering the reese bass and the hoover/mentasm, joined by the continuous MORPH knob -- 0 is pure reese, 1 is pure mentasm, and every stop in between blends curated target settings on top of your values.
The voice is a 1--7 oscillator unison stack with per-oscillator drift, a sub osc, bit-crush GRIT (S950 flavour), a self-FM growl with vowel notch pair, a stereo multimode filter with its own AD envelope, and a built-in morph-linked chorus.
Voicing is POLY / MONO (legato glide) / UNISON, with a chord bank (MIN7/MIN9/MAJ7/SUS4/OCT) that fans one played note into a stack.
| Control | What it does |

HVRZ: the big knob grid is the whole engine -- control panel + presets left, FX chain + LFO rack right, keyboard bottom.
The running plugin -- every area is detailed below.

The first knob is the whole point: it crossfades curated reese and hoover targets on top of your own settings.
MORPH at 0 -- deep detuned reese territory. The unison stack, sub and drift are doing the work.

MORPH at 1 -- the mentasm/hoover end: phase-distorted saw hollow wave, vowel notch pair, chorus baked into the target.

Anything between is a genuine hybrid -- automate MORPH or link an LFO to it for evolving basslines.

The middle of the grid shapes the raw voice.
UNISON stacks up to 7 oscillators with DETUNE cents and per-osc DRIFT -- the classic wide reese wobble. U SPRD pans the stack, U CURVE shapes the detune distribution.

GRIT decimates + bit-quantizes like an old sampler; GROWL FM + the VOWEL notch pair give the mentasm its talking, formant edge.

CHORD fans one note out to MIN7/MIN9/MAJ7/SUS4/OCT -- one finger plays the whole rave stab.

The unison stack is the reese's width; MORPH steers between the two signature sounds.
MORPH (0..1) -- 0 = pure reese bass, 1 = mentasm/hoover. Blends curated target settings on top of your own values -- automate it for evolving bass.

UNISON (1..7) -- oscillators in the stack. 7 is the classic wide reese.

DETUNE -- cents spread between the unison oscillators.

DRIFT -- per-oscillator random pitch wobble depth (incommensurate sines, never loops).

DRIFT RT -- speed of the per-osc drift.

SPREAD -- stereo spread of the stack (alternating L/R panning per osc).

WAVE -- plain polyBLEP saw to phase-distorted saw (the hollow mentasm wave).

PULSEW -- pulse width when WAVE leans toward pulse.

PWM AMT -- pulse-width modulation depth.

PWM RT -- PWM LFO rate.

OCTAVE (-2..+2) -- coarse octave shift.

SEMITONE (-12..+12) -- coarse tuning.

FINE -- cents-level detune.

PHASE -- oscillator start phase at note-on.

U SPRD -- stereo spread of the unison voices.

U CURVE -- detune distribution curve: even cents vs. clustered near unison.

The layers that thicken and dirty the voice.
SUB -- sub-oscillator level.

SUB OCT -- sub octave: -1 or -2.

SUB SQ -- blends the sub from sine toward square for a harder foundation.

SUB TUNE (+-50c) -- sub detune; slight beating against the stack.

SUB DEC -- sub-osc decay, so the bottom end can duck out of sustained notes.

NOISE -- noise layer level.

NOISE DEC -- noise decay time.

NOISE TONE -- lowpass on the noise layer.

GRIT -- decimation (sample-rate crush), S950-style digital edge.

GRIT DEC -- grit decay: crush the attack, clean up the tail.

GRIT BITS -- bit-depth reduction amount.

GROWL FM -- self-FM growl amount; the talking mentasm character.

FM DEC -- decay of the growl after note-on.

FM KEY -- growl key tracking.

FM TONE -- lowpass on the growl sidechain.

VOWEL -- centre frequency of the dual-notch formant pair.

VOWEL RT -- formant sweep rate.

VOW DEP -- notch depth.

VOW MIX -- how much of the vowel pair is in the signal.

Stereo SVF with its own ADSR plus the amp envelope.
FLT TYPE -- OFF / LP12 / LP24 / BP / NOTCH / HP.

CUTOFF (20--20k, skewed) -- filter cutoff.

RESO -- resonance.

DRIVE -- pre-filter saturation.

ENV AMT (+-48) -- filter envelope depth, bipolar.

F ATT -- filter envelope attack.

F DEC -- filter envelope decay.

F SUS -- filter envelope sustain level.

F REL -- filter envelope release.

ATTACK -- amp attack.

DECAY -- amp decay.

SUSTAIN -- amp sustain level.

RELEASE -- amp release.

HOLD -- hold time between attack and decay.

How it plays -- chords, glide, LFOs and the velocity/aftertouch maps.
VOICING -- POLY (8 voices) / MONO (legato) / UNISON (all voices stacked on one note).

CHORD -- one finger fans out a voicing: OFF / MIN7 / MIN9 / MAJ7 / SUS4 / OCT.

BEND -- pitch-bend range.

WIDTH -- output stereo width.

SAT -- soft-clip drive.

LEVEL -- synth bus level.

MASTER -- final output trim.

RND re-rolls the patch -- and remembers every roll.
Hit RND -- the whole engine, filter, mod and FX chain are re-rolled at once.

Every RND lands in the preset list as an rnd-* entry -- the list is your history. Double-click to recall, R renames a keeper, X deletes, SAVE names the current patch.

The right-hand rack stacks effects after the synth bus.
Each slot: power, RDM (randomize its params), reorder, remove. ADD opens the effect browser.

RND CHAIN builds a random chain, RND FX picks the effects, RND PRM re-rolls the loaded ones -- all recorded as rnd-* history.

Assignable LFOs that can drive any knob.
Arm an LFO's LINK, then click a knob -- MORPH, CUTOFF, DETUNE, FX params... the knob's mod ring shows the LFO live.

Left column is the master bus; AUD test-fires the bass.
I/O gain, post-filter, 3-band EQ, compressor and limiter sit after the FX chain. The ? button opens this manual.

THEME cycles the palette; AUD drops a phrase of bass notes so you can hear the patch instantly.
